Touring the city of Bayeux, France

We decided to stay in our own area for a day and just walk the city of Bayeux where our hotel was located. It is such an old city. The church was begun to be built during Roman times and continued on and became the magnificent structure that you see. The maintence is ongoing. They had scaffolding up while we were there redoing the back part of the roof. The inside was beautiful but cold and dank. Wouldn't want to endure a long church service there, which they still hold every week, it is a working church. Unlike UK they did not charge you to go through it. The creatures on the roof are for you Michael, know you like them. The place we stopped at afterwards was cozy and warm and we enjoyed our beers. They do have good beer in France also wonderful cider. We were glad to go back to the hotel.
